On the palmar side of the forearm, 2 cun above the wrist crease, between the tendons

Neiguan (PC6)

Neiguan is the Luo-connecting point of the Pericardium meridian and one of the Eight Confluent Points. It is commonly used for heart-mind disorders and stomach qi rebellion.

Location

On the palmar aspect of the forearm, 2 cun (about 3 finger-widths) above the wrist crease, between the palmaris longus and flexor carpi radialis tendons.

TCM Functions

  1. Calms the Mind: Treats palpitations, insomnia, anxiety, poor memory
  2. Harmonizes Stomach: Relieves nausea, vomiting, hiccups
  3. Regulates Qi: Improves chest tightness, chest pain, stomach pain
  4. Relieves Motion Sickness: Effective for carsickness and seasickness

How to Massage

  1. For Nausea:

    • Press firmly with thumb
    • Hold 1-2 minutes
    • Can press anytime when nauseous
  2. For Calming:

    • Gentle pressure before bed
    • Combine with deep breathing
    • 2-3 minutes each side
  3. For Palpitations:

    • Press when palpitations occur
    • Moderate pressure until sore
    • Can press both sides simultaneously
